Meet Dr. Karla Morgan
As a Naturopathic Physician, my calling is to support patients in understanding chronic conditions, building resilience, and reconnecting with earth and body.
I utilize many different tools that have come from my training in Naturopathic medicine, Somatic Experiencing®, and my ongoing training in bodywork, Body Psychotherapy and various other trauma informed practices. I use a holistic approach while I specialize in the renegotiation of trauma and mental wellness. I think of the renegotiation of trauma as an important individual endeavor and as inseparable from the healing of larger structures within which we exist and create. Our individual health is not separate from the health of the land, our community, relationships, and the structures we live in. As we change the structures and policies that are making us sick, we also take good care of ourselves and our communities, knowing that our individual liberation and care are part of the whole.
I offer:
Somatic Experiencing®
Healing Intentional Touch
CranioSacral Therapy
Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy
Visceral Manipulation
Nutrition
Herbal Medicine

My Social Location and Orientation
I am a 48 year old, cis-gendered, bisexual, non-disabled woman. My preferred pronouns are she/her. I am currently in a heterosexual relationship and I am the mother of 2 children, ages 14 and 10. I was raised in a lower economic class and am currently in the upper economic class. My family immigrated from Mexico, and I was born in the United States. I am a Mestiza woman and my ancestors include Native peoples from Southern and Northern Mexico, folks from the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal), and folks from West and North Africa. My first language was Spanish, although after all of these years I am more comfortable speaking in English. I practice a mix of Buddhism, Earth Based practices and worship/devotion to Tonantzin/Virgen de Guadalupe. I practice cultural humility and work to understand experiences that are not my own, where my biases hide, and how I can contribute to greater freedom, joy and liberation for people in all types of bodies and with all types of experiences. I work towards being anti-racist, sex positive, and body positive. I affirm gender identity and expressions of all kinds, and support the rights of people who immigrate, knowing that no human is illegal.
